If you are experiencing difficulties and want to learn ways to better manage through these challenging times, please get in touch.  Our team at the Craigie Partnership is here to help and want to hear from you. You might be unsure about seeking help during this Coronavirus outbreak.  We hope this article brings some comfort and clarity to the help available to you.

One of our team members, Samantha Bennett, a highly experienced Psychological Therapist and CBT Practitioner, has answered some questions below.

Can I still receive Psychological Therapy whilst in lockdown?

Yes, at the Craigie Partnership we are continuing to offer therapy sessions via telephone and video.  These are options we can offer as part of a holistic approach to delivering therapy.  Some clients prefer telephone or video sessions owing to their busy schedules.  You can have therapy without having to travel, and this can be a way of finding a time that fits in with your other commitments.  Telephone and video sessions can be a more flexible approach and can save you time without reducing the quality of service provided.

Do telephone or video sessions work as well?

There is increasing evidence that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) delivered via video (for example Skype) or telephone can be as effective as face to face therapy for a wide range of anxiety and depressive disorders.  We specialise in treating clients with generalised anxiety disorder, panic, OCD, social anxiety, PTSD, depression, sleep problems, eating disorders, low self-esteem and relationship issues.  We are offering sessions via video or telephone for all of these difficulties.  We can also offer Couple’s Counselling via telephone and video.

How does it work?

The process of therapy works in the same way as face to face therapy, with the same CBT techniques and resources used to support telephone and video-based therapy. Once you contact the Craigie Partnership, we will arrange your first session at a time that is mutually convenient.  We will ask your preference for telephone or video. This can be delivered using your tablet, mobile or computer. We will give you all the details to set this up prior to your first session.

Are telephone and video sessions confidential?

Yes, as with all face to face work, all sessions are confidential. We do not share your information and we do not work with third parties. We are bound by ethical standards set by our professional bodies and hold professional indemnity insurance.   We ask clients to find a private room for their session where they will not be disturbed for 50 minutes.

When can I have telephone or video sessions?

Samantha Bennett currently has availability for CBT sessions on Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings, Fridays and weekends.  Other practitioners are also available, so please get in touch with your preferred day and time, and we can try to match you to the most suitable member of the team.  You may be seen the same week you enquire, depending on your availability.

How much does it cost for telephone and video CBT sessions?

An initial assessment during normal working hours is reduced to £80 for self-funding clients (we can also offer Employee Assistance – contact us for more information).  Our prices per session for ongoing work start from £65-£75.  You can find the full list of prices on our website.  Session fees are paid by direct bank transfer to the practitioner directly on the day of the session.

If you have any further questions or want to discuss if telephone or video sessions would be right for you, please get in touch. We want to hear from you or anyone who might need us at this time.
